Solus Lighting LTD Nominated as Top FBE in the State of Ohio
Solus Lighting LTD is honored to announce the company’s nomination for 2017 OhioMBE Award of Top FBE (Female Business Enterprise). Inspired by the WBENC movement, ACT Intentionally, Solus Lighting set out to increase their support of other MBEs and FBEs. “Diversity is not only important to our clients, it is a value the company holds dear,” says Maureen E. Patterson (Lead Designer and Owner, Solus Lighting LTD). Leading by example, the company increased the number of women and minority owned vendors and contractors by 40% in 2017. These firms and individuals contributed to major successes for events ranging from an intimate luncheon for ESOP (a non-profit HUD-approved housing and financial counseling agency) to LeDainian Tomlinson’s Pro Football Hall of Fame Induction party.
Having relationships with the right contractors and vendors is critical to upholding the superior visual standards and attention to detail Solus Lighting has become known for. “These suppliers bring their A Game every time.” Patterson stated, adding: “which works out remarkably well, because that’s the only game we play.” October is National Women’s Small Business Month, and this honor gives Solus Lighting even more reason to celebrate.
The OhioMBE Awards recognize top advocates and supplier diversity within organizations across the state of Ohio. The awards ceremony will be held at 11:30 AM on Oct. 25 at the Vault in downtown Columbus. Small businesses and their advocates will be recognized during the luncheon.
